Advent – Week 1

Advent is a time to reflect on the virtues JESUS brought to us of Hope, Love, Joy & Peace.

HOPE

The song Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring is a beautiful piece about the appreciation and praise of man’s relationship with JESUS.

A personal study I’ve been doing this year on Psalm 119 has etched into my heart the deep desire God has for intimacy with me, and in turn, the desire I now have for Him.

Psalm 119:92 – Unless Your law had been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.

Unless Your WORD had been my delight this year, I would have fallen into depression [add your own situation] with the health challenges facing my family. God’s WORD gave me power and strength, a hope beyond myself, and delight and joy deep within my soul.

Being in the WORD daily helps me see things from God’s sovereign perspective. He is teaching me to humbly trust that He is working to sanctify me to become the person He intends me to be for His Kingdom. He may allow challenges to mold and change us. Like the WORD says, I am the clay and He is the potter. Mold me and make me, Jesus I pray.
