Knowing God

Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day!

Psalm 119:97

One way we can know more about God is to spend time reading His Word. This Christmas season I have enjoyed taking time to read the different accounts that record the Birth of Christ. I enjoy meditating on the verses to see what God would teach me.

In the Matthew, Chapter 1 account, I noticed a couple of things that could apply to my own life. Joseph had an initial solution to the problem, but he didn’t rush into it. There was much thought, prayer and counsel sought for the right answer. In the end he humbled his heart and listened to the Angel’s leading.

Then once he was confident of the truth and knew the solution provided by the Angel, he acted upon it quickly.

It’s beautiful to see how the Holy Spirit takes the Word of God and applies it to our hearts just like He did with Mary and Joseph.
