The Gift of Work

What gain has the worker from his toil? I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with.

Ecclesiastes 3:9-10

A result of man’s sin in Genesis 3 was God’s curse to the ground making it difficult for man to bring forth sustenance from it. Even though most of us don’t work the ground for our food, we do work to make money to buy our food. We all need food to live and we must work hard all of our lives for it. This verse helped me to see that the gifts God gives us to make and earn money for a living are blessings from His hand. We cannot do it alone, but must rely on Him to help us provide for our families throughout our life.
