Psalm 119:5

This is one of my favorite verses in Psalm 119 because of what the Holy Spirit brought to mind after I read it.

Oh, that my ways were established to keep your statutes!

Psalm 119:5

Praise to the Lord that You knew me before I was created in my mother’s womb – all my days were written before any of them came into being (Ps. 139:16). So even though my ways (paths, steps) were established, You have been with me as they zig-zagged in seemingly random-ness throughout my life. But because I knew You, Your hand was always behind and before me, leading and guiding. Even though times came when I sinned and went my own way, You pursued me and then used my mistakes to show me my need of You. You helped me see my great need of a Savior and to fall deeply in love with You again. So, knowing You from an early age, I can see how You established my ways to follow Your statutes.
