Prone to Wander
With my whole heart I seek You; do not allow me to wander from Your commandments.
Psalm 119:10
Wandering can happen to any of us, either in ignorance, or willfully. When we skip a few days of our quiet time with the Lord it is easy to start doing things “our way”. Before we know it we have moved off the right path and are going down an unfamiliar one.
Stay connected to God by reading His Word each day. This keeps our focus on seeking Him with our whole heart, and our soul open to the leading of the Holy Spirit to show us areas of weakness where we might be prone to wander. Be cautious and distrustful of self which can cause us to be careless or half-hearted in our Christian walk.
Matthew 18:14 says, “So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. He desires that they turn from their wandering and be rescued from danger and welcomed back into the fold with open arms.”
Our HOPE comes from the Word of God with beautiful promises of a Savior who came into the world to save us from ourselves.
